(CBS) — A penny slot machine produced a $3 million jackpot to one lucky gambler at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino. The 50-year-old woman from Kendall Park, NJ did not want to be identified but casino officials say she had only been playing the winning machine for about 5 minutes.
The unnamed woman from Hawthorne had spent $10 to play the Wheel of Fortune Double Sapphire Gold Spin slot machine at the Borgata in Atlantic City Saturday when she hit “the progressive jackpot,” the casino said.
The lucky gambler won $2,481,940.75 as a result.
“Talk about a way to end the summer!” the Borgata said on Twitter. “She hit the jackpot on her very first spin … congrats!”
The casino’s post on social media about the big win prompted other gambling enthusiasts to share their success stories.
“I love the Wheel of Fortune [game],” one user wrote on Twitter. 'Best I’ve hit is $1,000.'
